The University has partnered with John Smith's and has invested in an innovative scheme, which will help you make the very best of your time by improving access to the learning tools you need to support your studies.

If you are eligible for the Reach bursary, you will be allocated funds to spend on the online store: www.worcester-reach.co.uk - These funds are given to you by the University and you do not pay them back, they are yours to keep!

 Q. Who is Eligible for a Reach account?

A. All University of Worcester students can open a Reach account and have access to the John Smiths shop by registering at this website.

NB: If you are eligible for the Reach bursary you do not have to open an account, you will be allocated a login and password - this will be emailed to your university email address.

You can use the online shop in the same way as any other online retailer and you will enjoy the benefit of specially negotiated prices, including price matching Amazon for books.

Q. What is the Reach Bursary/Reach Funds?

A. If you are eligible, the university will provide you with funds into your reach account for you to spend on the online shop. You can purchase whatever you need, using these funds. These funds are yours to keep and you do not pay them back. 

Q. Who is Eligible for the Reach Bursary?

A. All first year undergraduate, full-time, home and EU students paying full fees (£9,250) to the University of Worcester and joining us in 2018 are eligible to receive £100 to spend on their Reach account in the 2018/19 academic year.

Students in other years (who are who are full-time EU/Home Undergraduate students, enrolled in a level 4 or above course, paying full fees to the University of Worcester) are eligible to receive £50 to spend on their Reach account in the 2018/19 academic year.

PGCE students paying full fees to the University are also eligible to receive £100 to spend on their Reach account. 

Q. How will I receive the Bursary?

A. All eligible students will receive an email via their university email address, which will provide details on how to set up a Reach account and redeem the bursary.

Q. How do I spend my funds?

A. If you are eligible for a Reach bursary and have consented to be part of the scheme, you will receive an email via your University email account. This will tell you how to create your Reach account and redeem the bursary. Once you have done this you will be able to login to your account at www.worcester-Reach.co.uk and start buying your course books and equipment.

Q. What can I spend my funds on?

A. You can spend your funds online at www.worcester-reach.co.uk on any product that is available on our website, including textbooks, stationery, electronics and other learning materials.

Q. Is this a loan? Do I have to pay it back?

A. Your Reach award is not a loan and you do not have to pay it back. The funds are provided for you by the University to help you with your studies for as long as you are a student at the university. If you leave the university your Reach account will be closed and any unspent balance removed from the account. If you are finishing your course, we advise you to use your funds before you leave Campus for the summer.

Q. What happens if I still have money left in my account at the end of the academic year?

 A. Providing you are still a current student at the University, any unspent balance on your Reach account will be carried forward for you to spend in the following academic year. If you have completed your course and have left the University, your reach account will be closed and any unspent funds will be removed from the account. If you are finishing your course, we advise you to use your funds before you leave Campus for the summer.
