Description

There will be a delay in supplying University of Stirling Dementia Centre titles at the moment as the building where the books are stored / despatched from is locked-down now. We will send as soon as we are able.

Indoor air quality is vital to our experience of a space. It is affected by high and low temperatures, air that is too dry or too moist, contaminants and pollutants. All of these directly affect our respiratory and cardiovascular systems. The degree to which we will be affected by poor indoor air quality will vary depending on the intensity and duration of our exposure to it. Older people, who are often less mobile and spend a lot of their time indoors, can be particularly susceptible to poor indoor air quality. People with dementia may face the additional challenge of not being able to communicate their concerns or discomfort. This book aims to raise awareness of the vulnerability of older people with dementia to poor air quality. It has been written to help commissioners, providers, the design team, estates and facilities managers and maintenance staff, as well as users of buildings for people with dementia.
