University of Botswana in partnership with John Smith’s International, have created the John Smith's Student Store and the Aspire scheme to help you make the very best of your time at your University.

Aspire can be used to purchase prescribed textbooks and other learning materials. Unspent funds from last Semester have automatically been rolled over to this year and are available to be spent. Students can use the funds to purchase textbooks, stationery and also eBooks where available via our KORTEXT platform.

Q. Am I eligible for the Aspire programme?

A. Self-sponsored students may choose to deposit funds direct with the John Smith Student Store or use cash and all major debit/credit cards to acquire the materials they need including eBooks that will be available immediately via our KORTEXT platform.

Q. What is the current value of the MoESD book allowance?

A. The Book Allowance is now being paid in cash so on receipt students have the option to load their Aspire account with all or part of the allowance and use it towards purchase of learning materials. Discounts will be offered to students who deposit all their Book Allowance to the Aspire account.

Q. How do I register for it?

A. Returning students are already registered for Aspire. New students can have accounts created by visiting the shop or emailing: moc/wbisj//zluhcs/ettigirb or moc/wbisj//olelebogkom/olepaht

Q. When can I access my Aspire account?

A. As soon as we are in receipt of the registration data at the beginning of term.

Q. Where can I spend my Aspire funds?

A. You can spend your Aspire funds at this website or in the John Smith’s Student Store in the University of Botswana Campus.

Q. What happens if I don’t spend the money by the end of the academic year?

A. Your Books Plus funding will be available to you throughout your studies.
