Although the e-Quella is pedal assisted it's still an exercise, offering low cost, energy efficient, and emission-free travel, with all the physical and mental health benefits whilst arriving in similar appearance as driving or taking public transport. The technology is revolutionary as both the motor and battery fits inside the rear hub in a stainless steel plated body. It contains a powerful brushless electric motor that complies with the ped-elec standard so no need for tax, insurance or a licence. Bluetooth technology let's you link the hub to your mobile phone so you manage your hub settings through an app.The hub includes the regenerative KERS system, similar technology as used in Formula One engines in which energy can be converted to recharge and power the battery whilst in motion. The converted energy may not be sufficient in keeping your hub from a plug socket all year however it will certainly reduce the need to power up the battery as a conventional bicycle electric motor, whilst doing your bit to help the environment.
