Regent's University London, in partnership with John Smith’s Bookshops, has created the Regent's Aspire scheme to help you make the very best of your time at our University.
Q. What is the Regent’s University London Aspire scheme?
Regent’s University London provide learning resources to the students to help with their studies. This is in the form of funds, eBooks, equipment or textbooks dependent on what course you are doing.
Q. Who is eligible for the Aspire scheme?
All students can get a Free Aspire card but what it entitles you to depends on what course you are doing. Study abroad students are unfortunately not eligible for the learning resources but can still get a card which will allow you to hear about offers and competitions running in the store or online.
Q. How do I know what I will get?
You will be informed during your programme induction what you are to receive but if not, or if you have any questions please visit the bookshop in the main reception and ask a member of staff.
Q. How do I register for it?
The university will register on your behalf but if you are required to collect a card or any physical products these will be available from the bookshop. To get your Aspire card you just need to bring your student ID. In order to protect the security of your card, you will be asked to enter a 4 digit pin number of your own choosing.
Q. What can I spend my funds on?
The funds can be spent on anything in the store or online here excluding tobacco and mobile phone credit.
Q. How do I use my Aspire card?
After that, all you need to do is present your card whenever you wish to make a purchase from the shops on campus or the John Smith's website. The amount you spend will be automatically deducted from your account balance and you can check the status of your account online at any time. You can also use the card as part payment for an item if you do not have sufficient funds and pay the remaining balance of you transaction using a different payment method.
Q. What happens if I don’t spend the money by the end of the academic year?
The funds rollover and remain on your account until 6 months after your course ends. Unfortunately there are no cash alternatives
Q. Is this a loan? Do I have to pay it back?
Any Aspire awards you may receive are not a loan and you do not have to pay it back. The funds are provided for you by your university to help with the extra costs associated with studying.
Q. I'm going back home - can I order online using my funds for International shipping?
You can contact the shop who will be happy to arrange delivery of most items overseas
