Q. Am I eligible for the Aspire programme?

A. All students that receive a book allowance from their sponsor which is paid to the institution specifically for the purchase of books and learning materials are automatically enrolled in the programme.

Self-sponsored students may choose to deposit funds direct with the John Smith Student Store or use cash and all major debit/credit cards to acquire the materials they need.

Q. What is the current value of the MoESD book allowance?

A. The Book allowance is worth P2,500 per annum and is credited to the student Aspire account in 2 equal instalments. The first instalment of P1,250 is credited at the beginning of Semester 1. The second instalment of P1,250 is credited at the beginning of the 2nd semester. Please check with your John Smith Student Store to confirm that your funds have been received.

Q. How do I register for it?

A. Registration is automatic for all students who receive a book allowance. Your Botho University student ID card will provide access to your account at the John Smith Student Store.

Q. When can I access my Aspire account?

A. As soon as we are in receipt of the registration data at the beginning of term and confirmation of funds, your account will be accessible.

Q. Where can I spend my Aspire funds?

A. You can spend your Aspire funds at this website or in the John Smith’s student stores on the Botho University Campus.

Q. What happens if I don’t spend the money by the end of the academic year?

A. Your Books Plus funding will be available to you throughout your studies.

Aspire is for full-time and part-time undergraduates who receive a book allowance from their sponsor. Aspire can be used to purchase prescribed textbooks and other learning materials designated by Botho University. Your entry into the Aspire programme also enables you to enter great competitions and access special discounts throughout the year and can be used at your John Smith Student Store or online on this website. Any unspent funds on your Aspire account will roll over to the following year and still be available to spend.
